Ballina Hot Meal Centre


The Ballina Hot Meal Centre is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization that has been serving the Ballina community for over 27 years.
Operating independently since September 2020, the Centre provides substantial and wholesome meals—both sit-down and takeaway—free of charge or by donation of a ‘gold coin’ to homeless, disadvantaged, elderly, lonely, and vulnerable individuals from Ballina and surrounding districts. The Centre operates two days per week, offering up to 200 meals per session, thanks to the dedication of its volunteers and support from local sponsors and donors.

Our Kids Lismore

Health Fund


Our Kids, formally known as the Northern Rivers Children’s Health Fund, is a Lismore-based charity established in 2001 by paediatrician Dr. Chris Ingall.
The organisation is dedicated to improving children’s healthcare in the Northern Rivers region by raising funds to purchase essential paediatric equipment for local hospitals, including Lismore Base Hospital, Tweed Hospital, Grafton Base Hospital, and surrounding satellite facilities. By enhancing local medical services, Our Kids aims to ensure that children can receive necessary medical care close to home, reducing the need for families to travel long distances for treatment.
Over the years, Our Kids has raised over $2.7 million, funding vital equipment such as humidicribs, telehealth carts, and portable nitrous oxide units. The charity also supports annual community grants and education scholarships for paediatric and midwifery staff, contributing to the ongoing improvement of children’s health services in the region.
